WSUS Error 80072EFD

Overview

If you try to run Windows Updates and get an Error 80072EFD, you may have failed/stuck updates.

One possible fix (worked for me)

Stop BITS and Windows Update services:

net stop bits
net stop wuauserv

Flush DNS Cache

Ipconfig /flushdns

Delete broken update files in C:\Users\All Users\Microsoft\Network\Downloader

cd "C:\Users\All Users\Microsoft\Network\Downloader"
del qmgr0.dat
del qmgr1.dat

Restart BITS and Windows Update services:

net start bits
net start wuauserv
